Devil May Cry 4 load times

It’s being reported that Devil May Cry 4 on the PS3 takes over 20 minutes to install before you can actually play the game. Apparently the game installs 5 gig of data to the hard disc when you first play it to make gaming smoother going forward. It reminds me of the days I’d wait for my ZX Spectrum to load only to come back and be faced with the message R Tape Loading Error! Aaaarrgghh!

Woolworths scrap HD-DVD

Woolworths has stopped stocking HD-DVDs, another nail in the coffin and another victory for the rival Blu-Ray format in the HD format war. They say Blue-Ray outsold HD-DVD 10 to 1 over Christmas so will continue to sell HD-DVD online but have a new Blu-Ray only chart will now appear in 820 stores.

Cash in consoles

ELSPA have found 12 thousand pounds in cash stuffed inside an Xbox and a PS2 after a raid on a Tower Hamlets flat. They were investigating piracy and chipping offences and came across the cash when opening up the consoles to check for illegal modifications.

GoldenEye on Xbox live arcade

Rumours are flying around more than Jodie Marsh’s knickers about a GoldenEye remake on Xbox live arcade. There are even apparent videos of a slightly tidied-up version of the N64 classic. Whether this is true remains to be seen but I hope it is. Then I hope we’re not just viewing the game through rose-tinted specs and we ruin how good it was at the time for ourselves.

Fifa 08 tops the charts

Last year Fifa 08 took the top spot in 2007’s chart, followed by Brain Training, Call of Duty 4, Pro Evo and then more Brain Training. I guess we’re breeding a lot of clever footballers who like shooting guns.

Beijing 2008 Olympics videogame

Sega has just announced it’s publishing the official videogame of the Beijing 2008 Olympics. This time, it won’t have Sonic in it and it will feature 35 events from the massive sporting event. And, for the first time, the game will play online so everyone round the world will be able to compete. Expect broken joypad buttons everywhere in the summer.
