If you love your Xbox Live be warned, it’s got scheduled downtime for maintenance next week. On 16th June 2009, it’ll be down for up to 24 hours for scheduled maintenance. The reason is probably to prepare the service for all those lovely E3 announcements last week. Sony have shown us some new hardware in the form of a new Playstation 3 motion controller which uses Eye Toy technology to let you wield swords, bows or anything else you like in the game world, and their new PSP Go with a sliding screen which flips up to reveal the buttons and the removal of the UMD drive. Microsoft had a few massive things to say, the main thing being Project Natal, a complete motion and voice capture system that lets you play games and interact without a controller. The trailer showed driving games, skating, quiz games using hands as buzzers, facial capture, voice recognition and even the ability to scan objects into the game. Other big titles for the 360 included Halo 3 ODST, Halo Rising, Left 4 Dead 2, Forza Motorsport 3 and The Beatles Rockband .
