Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games

Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games review

I know the lengthy-named Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games has been out for months now but we’re finally at the real-life London Olympics so I thought I’d take a look at the grand event from the point of view of an Italian Plumber and a bright blue Hedgehog. This is actually the third Olympic game featuring these two – the first one came out in 2007 and then there was a Winter Olympics game. Now we’re back with the summer games and this brings a mixed bag of gameplay that’s also just a varied as to...

Kingdom Hearts 3D Dream Drop Distance

Kingdom Hearts 3D Dream Drop Distance review

It’s been ten years since the original Kingdom Hearts Final Fantasy and Disney mash-up and now Kingdom Hearts comes to the 3DS in the form of Dream Drop Distance. Old favourites Sora and Riku are back and this time they’re charged with completing the Mark of Mastery exam which doesn’t involve sweating over a piece of paper in silence but instead, both entering parallel worlds and saving them from cute but deadly monsters known as Dream Eaters. You can also recruit these little monsters to aid you and as an added bonus you can also play with them virtual-pet style...

LEGO Batman 2 DC Super Heroes

LEGO Batman 2 DC Super Heroes review

LEGO Batman 2 is an original story from the Traveller’s Tales team, who brought you all the other LEGO games you’re probably all familiar with. In them you smash stuff to bits and beat up baddies to collect studs which earn you more unlocks and collectibles. It’s incredibly addictive, especially when played how it’s meant to played in co-op mode and funny too thanks to parodies on well-loved franchises. LEGO Batman 2 tries to break away from this mould slightly but ultimately it just succeeds in diluting an already successful formula. So what’s going on? Well this time Lex Luthor has...

Mario Kart 7 cheats

Nintendo have launched an update for Mario Kart 7 to stop some naughty exploits being used by players online. Shortcut exploits will be eliminated from three tracks, those being Wuhu Island Loop, Wuhu Mountain Loop and GBA Bowser Castle 1. And guess what, if you don’t download the update, you can’t play Mario Kart online any more so stop moaning, get the update and keep on trucking – or…karting. That was a saying that didn’t quite work. Buy Mario Kart 7 now New: Buy Mario Kart 7 from Amazon.com Related: Mario Kart 7, Mario Kart

Mario and Sonic at the 2012 London Olympic Games

Mario and Sonic at the 2012 London Olympic Games review

Sega were generous enough to send me a copy of their latest Mario and Sonic game and who am I to say no? The formula so far has been that the Wii version contains a collection of Olympic themes Wii Sports style mini games and focuses heavily on local multiplayer. The handheld game instead contains a single player adventure story mode as well as collection of mini games that can also be played multiplayer if you have a DS/3DS owning friend. With the upcoming Olympic Games in London this year it makes total sense that Mario and Sonic would be...

Kid Icarus Uprising

Kid Icarus Uprising review

After 25 years of wait, Pit is back. His last starring game was back on the NES, with guest appearances in Smash Bros. Now at long last, he has flown into the 21st century with a lick of 3D paint. The big question, is Kid Icarus worth the 25 year wait? The short answer is, oh hell yeah! The game is split up into on-rails flying and shooting sections, think Star Fox with Angels. The other part of the game is on foot, almost fps-like sections. The storyline involves the evil Medusa’s attempts at world domination, what it lacks in...
