Tekken 3D Prime Edition

Tekken 3D Prime Edition review

This is the second time the Tekken franchise has come to a Nintendo console, the last one being Tekken Advance. This time the game is back in 3D with not only a game to get your paws into if you like playing as Kuma but also a full 3D movie to watch in the form of Tekken: Blood Vengeance which also appeared on DVD, Blu-Ray and in the PS3 game Tekken Hybrid. So what’s the game like then? Well, the good news is it plays like any other Tekken you’ve played before on your console and if you have a...

Resident Evil Revelations

Resident Evil Revelations review

Okay so they may be corny but the Resident Evil games are a guilty pleasure of mine. I really enjoyed Mercenaries when the 3DS first came out and have been looking forward to a ‘proper’ game on the 3DS with a story ever since. Revelations tells the story between the events of console games 4 and 5 and sees you playing as three pairs of soldiers with most of the action happening on board an abandoned cruise ship as you take on the roles of Chris, Jill, Jessica and the slightly overweight but likeable Parker. This time it’s the mysterious...

Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D

Nintendo 3DS Metal Gear Solid Special Edition

Not happy with just having a boring old green Nintendo 3DS? Well, if like some footballers in the spotlight at the moment, colour may be an issue to you, you’ll be happy to know that a special edition of the device will be released along with Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D in the form of an embossed snakeskin effect. There’s no word yet if it will be released in all territories apart from Japan but the big question we’re thinking is why would you want it? Unless of course you’re a cowboy or you’re a very fashion conscious female...

Mario Kart 7 review

Mario Kart 7 review

Finally there’s news that the 3DS is actually selling out in some shops before Christmas and that probably has a lot to do with Mario coming to the system in the form of Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7. I’m a massive fan of the racing series so is it actually worth buying a 3DS for? Well, the short answer is, if I got the console and game for Christmas I’d be very happy indeed. Once again you can compete in 8 cups across three speed classes, each consisting of four races. Some of these are brand new...

Mario Kart 7

Mario Kart 7 launch event

Last night saw the launch event for Mario Kart 7 happen at the Sports Café at Haymarket in London. Although there was a hefty police presence outside due to protestors taking over most of the road, luckily we were still able to get into the venue to have a go on the game, drink some free beer and try to win a tournament. Quite what the prize was on offer I’m not sure I’m not sure, I just wanted to win. We decided to get straight onto the rows of Nintendo 3DSs lined up, have a practice and set our...

FIFA 12

FIFA 12 review

I’ve seen a lot about FIFA 12 in the run up to launch and after playing it at preview events I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. Now it’s here and they’ve made quite a few changes. Most of them are for the good but some they also present their own problems which could probably be smoothed out in FIFA 13. The main thing you’ll notice is the complete overhaul in the way the game plays. You can now dribble past defenders more easily thanks to new close control and no longer can you just hold down two...
