Subbuteo

Subbuteo review

After 60 years since first release Subbuteo is the probably world’s biggest selling soccer game. Yes that’s right, not Fifa or Pro Evo nor the classic Sensible Soccer; it’s Subbuteo that blows them all away. Now fair enough up until now Subbuteo has always been a board game of sort’s but it was only a matter of time it made its way onto our screens. Having been born into the digital generation with video game consoles such as the Atari 2600 (released in 1977) it’s hardly surprising to say that Subbuteo passed me by. Why flick little plastic dudes around...

Sonic Chronicles The Dark Brotherhood

Sonic Chronicles The Dark Brotherhood review

Just as Mario stepped into the RPG world recently with Super Paper Mario , Sonic and friends have now done it on the DS with Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood. The game’s made by BioWare, the same people that brought us Knights of the Old Republic and Mass Effect. These were two massive RPGs but can they replicate the success on a much smaller platform with Sega’s cuddly characters? The game’s a mix of exploring and combat as you try to retrieve the stolen Chaos Emeralds from a group of robots from another dimension. The game is very pretty indeed...

DSi region unlocked

It’s emerged that the new Nintendo DSi will be region-locked, meaning there’s not much point getting one early from Japan unless you want to play Japanese games on it. Older DS games will work from different regions though, so if you’re looking for a smaller machine with bigger screens to play your games on, go ahead. Nintendo DSi

Nintendo’s remodelling the DS Lite to incorporate a camera. The new DSi will have a retractable lens, MP3 player and bigger screens. Personally I think it looks rather ugly but if you want one you can get one around Spring next year. Buy a Nintendo DSi New: For availability check the Nintendo DSi page. Drawn to Life review

What with the upcoming SpongeBob edition of Drawn to Life hitting the shelves, I thought I should head back and take a look at where it all started, the original Drawn to Life for DS, yes I did miss it the first time around. Have you ever looked at a Video Game and thought, ‘Those graphics are rubbish, I could do better than that’? I know I have, and I’m pretty sure you have to. It doesn’t matter how bad our own artistic skills may be, we still think that we are so talented and could improve on something drawn...

Locks Quest

Locks Quest and Doodle Hex

Two cool new demos have appeared on the Nintendo Channel download service for UK Wii owners: First up is Lock’s Quest from THQ. An intriguing action come puzzle/build em up. Your goal is to build defence walls, turrets and other goodies in a bid to stop the invasion from some evil clockwork monsters. Frantic action which sees you building and repairing walls as well has having fisticuff sessions to protect your hometown. It’s quite a lengthy demo by the way, which is cool. Secondly we have Doodle Hex from Bitbox. This is an odd beat em up which focuses just...
