Guitar Hero goes on tour on DS

Got new news on Guitar Hero for the ever-better DS. Apparently the game will deliver a unique Guitar Hero experience by challenging handheld gamers to rock out and prove their shredding skills on the most diverse set list of master tracks ever offered in a Guitar Hero game, including classic rock, alternative and pop favorites such as Nirvana, OK Go and No Doubt. The game will be packaged with a Guitar Grip peripheral that fits snugly into the DS and a unique Guitar Hero pick-stylus that brings a new dimension to handheld gaming and the core gameplay that defines Guitar Hero....

Worms Open Warfare 2 review

Does anyone here remember the Commodore Amiga? If not then you’re obviously not as old as I feel. The Amiga was a relatively low cost home computer which was quite successful during the early 1990’s; it was on this very beige box of tricks that the very first Worms game came out. Skip forward 14 years and 13 other Worms franchise games and we get to Worms Open Warfare 2 for the DS (and PSP). There have been a couple of outings recently where for some reason the developers switched the classic 2D arcade style game play for a totally...

Fifa Street 3 review

So another year brings another sequel to one of EA’s sports brands. Fifa Street 3 is the latest on offer from EA Sports BIG after a 2 year holiday and this means it’s a sports game with an arcade twist, an exaggerated artistic slant and a cool soundtrack to make the sport bigger and better than normal ‘soccer’. The idea behind Fifa Street is simple. It’s 5-a-side football played in parking lots, on beaches and rooftops and you’ve just got to bang more goals in than your opponents, oh and it helps if you look cool whilst you’re doing it...

Lego Batman

After Lego Star Wars and Lego Indiana Jones comes Lego Batman. Travellers Tales are bringing the dynamic duo to the square brick format and it’s looking pretty cool with some great lighting effects and characters such as The Scarecrow, Catwoman and Robin all in the mix. The game has been announced Autumn 2008.

Baby Pals

Baby Pals review

I went to an event for the new Baby Pals game from THQ last night. While I was there I also got a massage and had my nails done (really, they were horrid and now look very nice). Anyway, it’s best to describe the game as the equivalent of Nintendogs, or Dogz, Catz or Babiez or whatever they’ll come up with next. Basically, you choose how your baby looks by choosing how big its head is, skin tone and eye colour and then you give it a name. Of course, being 31 and not a girl under 10 I thought...

Advance Wars Dark Conflict

Advance Wars Dark Conflict review

One thing I’ll openly admit is that I’m not very good at strategy games. IN the gaming world at least I get a bit lost when there’s lots of things going on at once in different places and I have to keep an eye on everything all at once. I suppose it’s a bit like being a linesman. Sorry, assistant referee having to watch two people at once with different eyes to see if they’re offside. Anyway, that said, I am well aware that the previous Advance Wars games on the GBA and DS were very good, although I found...
