Bayonetta 2

Bayonetta 2 review

Bayonettas back and this time, only on the Wii U which is why, as you can see here, she also comes with a number of outfits and accessories that come straight out of Nintendo’s weird and wonderful world. Once again Platinum Games have provided an experience that not only gives your fingers and thumbs a good pummelling as you attack both angels and demons that materialise to stop you but also seeks to entertain and titillate via the usual surreal Japanese mechanics of nudity and Sega’s arcade-style graphics and presentation. This time the action takes place around Christmas as Bayonetta...

Alien Isolation review

I love both gory and spooky horror movies and I’m also a big fan of the Alien movies and H R Giger’s Xenomorph creation. Having endured Sega’s previous AvP games, I was excited to play Alien Isolation, a game that harks back to the roots of the Ridley Scott’s original Alien movie as you helplessly avoid just one alien that will definitely kill you if it spots you hiding in a dark corner. And I haven’t been disappointed as this game is one of the most scary horror games I’ve ever played. In fact, I’d say it’s almost so stressful...

Top Five Games of 2014

Top 5 Games of 2014

Once again another year has almost ended so here are my top 5 games of 2014. South Park: the Stick of Truth At 5 it’s South Park: The Stick of Truth. Finally a game has been released that’s worthy of this very long running cartoon comedy. Kind of like a light role-playing game and faithfully recreated in the 2d-style of the, you must journey round the town of South Park and regain power of the Stick of Truth in your very own role-playing game – within the game so to speak. With turn-based combat, exploration and a tonne of laughs,...

Forza Horizon 2

Forza Horizon 2 review

I’ve always been the kind of gamer who’s more Burnout than Gran Turismo, more Need for Speed than Forza. Call me old fashioned but if I want a more realistic racing experience I’ll get in a real car and drive down a real road. It’s a good thing then that Forza Horizon 2 sits somewhere in the middle of fantasy and reality as once again we’re plunged into a festival atmosphere and asked to get behind the wheel of some really cool cars and drive them round the stunning beauty of Southern Europe. Set in an open world with a...

Middle Earth Shadow of Mordor review

I thought we were all done with Lord of the Rings games and then up pops Shadow of Mordor which lets you fill the boots of a ranger named Talion and a spiritual Wraith that’s hitching a ride with him as he runs around Mordor killing Orcs and monsters. Let’s just get this out of the way now, Shadow of Mordor is a blatant rip-off of the Batman Arkham games and Assassin’s Creed but, as those are both two of my favourite games, I’m not complaining! You’re free to roam around Mordor as you please but as usual you’ve got...
