Kinect 2 details emerge

New details have emerged regarding Kinect 2 and the big revelation is that it can lip read. Yes, the new piece of tech is so accurate it can detect facial movement and expressions. At the moment it’s the USB connection that prevents all that data going to the console but the new one will connect differently and come bundled with Microsoft’s next console which is still yet to be named. Star Wars The Old Republic under attack

Not content with just attacking Battlefield 3, Activision’s CEO Bobby Kotick is now having a go at World of Warcraft’s impending rival Star Wars: The Old Republic. He stated that George Lucas will be the main financial winner when the game comes out on 20th December and he doesn’t understand how the economics will work for EA. EA has previously stated it needs just 500,000 subscribers to make a profit but believe it could attract at least 2 million! Guess we’ll see the outcome in the coming months. Rayman Origins review

I’ve never been a fan of the 3D Rayman games. Although the armless hero does appeal to some, for me he’s always been Ubisoft’s attempt at making its own version of Mario or Sonic with only some degree of success. Rayman Origins has changed my opinion because not only is it a slick 2D platformer, it’s also one of the most gorgeous looking and sounding games on HD consoles. So what’s the story about? Well, to be honest, it’s hard to tell thanks to there being no speech during the opening sequence but it’s something to do with four kings...

Goldeneye 007 Reloaded

Goldeneye 007 Reloaded review

Goldeneye 007: Reloaded is an HD remake of the Wii re-imagining of the original Goldeneye on the N64. Still with me? Good. If you’re not aware of what’s going on with it, basically it brings the Goldeneye story into the modern era with Daniel Craig instead of Pierce Brosnan and different level design that pays homage to the movies but shouldn’t actually be considered as an HD version of the N64 game because it’s not. Whilst it’s not what I would call a premium FPS it still delivers some fun action moments although to be honest, the whole package is...

Mario Kart 7

Mario Kart 7 launch event

Last night saw the launch event for Mario Kart 7 happen at the Sports Café at Haymarket in London. Although there was a hefty police presence outside due to protestors taking over most of the road, luckily we were still able to get into the venue to have a go on the game, drink some free beer and try to win a tournament. Quite what the prize was on offer I’m not sure I’m not sure, I just wanted to win. We decided to get straight onto the rows of Nintendo 3DSs lined up, have a practice and set our...
