Rocksmith

Rocksmith release date

Following the news that music game Rocksmith has been delayed in Europe until some time in 2012, it’s also received a rather mediocre response from gamers in the United States. Ubisoft’s North American executive director Laurent Detoc has said on the matter “As much as gamers claim they want innovation, they don’t.” I have to agree, I still prefer a joypad to any other controller but really want to plug my guitar into my console! It’s out in the US for PC in December. Buy Rocksmith now New: Buy Rocksmith from Amazon.com Related: Music video games, Rock Revolution review

Battlefield 3 sales figures

Battlefield 3 has become the fastest-selling game in EA’s history. It sold more than 5 million copies in its first weekend on sale. Executive VP of EA Games Patrick Soderlund was rather happy, stating “From Tokyo to Los Angeles, Sydney to London, millions of fans have been playing all weekend long – we are overwhelmed by the global response to Battlefield 3.” Isn’t it nice to know most people spent last weekend shooting each other? Battlefield 3 review

So here it is. After months of hype Battlefield 3 finally comes to consoles and PC and delivers sandbox multiplayer battles in abundance. The Battlefield games have always been first-and-foremost about playing with and against real people but this time they’ve included a fully fleshed out single player campaign as well that’s bound to draw comparisons with the Call of Duty franchise. Have DICE succeeded in taking CoD’s crown? Well, based on previous Battlefield games, it’s a bit of a mixed bag. Let’s start with the best thing DICE do and that’s multiplayer. You can play over a variety of...

Dead Rising 2 Off The Record

Dead Rising 2 Off The Record review

You could say that zombies have a lot in common with celebrities. Most people tend to get quite ‘excited’ when they encounter a zombie, for instance, and it’s the same for many people when they meet a celebrity. Zombies feed off of living breathing humans, celebrities ‘feed’ off the same, albeit in a different way (ie: they feel the need for the attention, to be constantly reassured that they are ‘special’, rather than feeling the need to munch on living flesh!) Zombies also have an annoying habit of not staying dead, much like celebrities at the end of their natural...

Modern Warfare 3 launch date event

It seems like Activision are celebrating the release of Modern Warfare 3 in style once again by throwing a big bash on the evening of November 7th in time for the midnight launch on Tuesday November 8th. Coming to retail a full 3 days sooner than usual to hit the worldwide release, they’ve enlisted the help of UK music sensation Example and dance duo Chase & Status to play exclusive DJ sets at the official event. Example is quoted as saying “I’ve always been a massive fan of the Call of Duty franchise, ex-girlfriends have always been jealous of the...

Batman Arkham City review

I cannot tell you how excited I’ve been about Batman: Arkham City ever since I played Arkham Asylum three times to complete it 100% and get all but three of the achievements. Now it’s here but can it live up to the hype or like in music, will Bruce Wayne be struggling with his difficult 2nd album? I don’t want to give away spoilers so let me just say that for one reason or another, Bruce Wayne finds himself inside Arkham City – a sort of open prison inside Gotham City where prisoners are left to run amok and take...
