MAG

MAG review

The first thought I had about MAG was that it seemed that not a huge amount of thought had gone into the game name – ‘Massive Action Game’ sounds like a work-in-progress title that nobody thought to change. However, like the annoying bloke on the ads for those DIY products used to say – ‘it does exactly what it says on the tin’ and gives you a fairly clear idea of what kind of game you’re getting, in this case a First-Person Shooter in which three Private Military Corporations (PMCs) via for supremacy across massive maps with up to 256...

Aliens vs Predator

Aliens vs Predator release date

The real gaming geeks among you may remember Alien vs Predator released for the 64bit Atari Jaguar many moons ago. Back in 1995 it looked amazing and wiped the floor with PC FPS games like Doom and Duke Nukem – skip forward fifteen years and Atari are dead but the first person shooter lives on. Aliens versus Predator for the PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 promises an intense single player experience and an online multiplayer mode to rival Modern Warfare 2. We don’t have long until the February 16th 2010 Alien vs Predator release date so we will find...

Review of Bayonetta

Matt Cuttle has already reviewed Bayonetta giving it a glowing review and score of 9 out of 10. Because Sega also kindly supplied me with a review sample I thought I should post my thoughts as well, especially as they don’t quite merge with those of Matt’s. So here for you is my review of Bayonetta for Xbox 360. Probably just like you my first encounter with Bayonetta was when Sega first started to release promotional pictures of their new gaming heroine. I can’t say I was particularly thrilled; not because I thought Bayonetta was unattractive or anything, but rather...

Bioshock 2 release date

Can you believe that we have less than a day to wait until the Bioshock 2 release date? I really enjoyed playing through the original Bioshock game; the unique underwater setting with a 1950’s theme and totally twisting storyline made it my highlight of 2007. The sequel promises tons more action with more gene splicing action and even an online multiplayer mode to enjoy weeks after the single player campaign has been played through. Our advice is that Bioshock 2 for the Xbox 360, PC and Playstation 3 is a must buy title when it comes out on the 9th...

Dark Void

Dark Void review

What do you get when you try to cross Uncharted, The Rocketeer and The Twilight Zone? Well, you could get Dark Void which is a 3rd-person action adventure set in the mysterious Bermuda Triangle. Playing as tough wise-guy pilot Will, your plane goes down over the afore-mentioned odd area and you get sucked into the Void where you must fight lots of mechanical creatures that also seem to have slugs living in them when you shoot them in the head. When not flying around in your jet-pack the game’s a pretty standard shooter. You stop and pop your shots from...

Bayonetta sequel

If you enjoyed Bayonetta as much as I did, you’ll be pleased to know a spin-off is definitely on the cards. Hideki Kayima from Platinum Games definitely wants to do another game but not necessarily a straight sequel. Maybe Rodin or Jeanne will get a run-out instead? Only time will tell.
