Mirrors Edge 2 rumours

The cat’s out of the bag, or at least the girl will be running over those rooftops again in Mirrors Edge 2 . EA Games VP Patrick Soderlund told OXM that EA doesn’t just want Swedish developers DICE to become a Battlefield-only studio. Couple that with Ben Cousins, former boss of EA free-to-play saying on Twitter that it’s “general knowledge in the Stockholm dev scene that Mirror’s Edge 2 is in production at DICE” and I’d say that’s pretty much a sure thing that we’re due another parkour playthrough most probably sometime next year. Hitman Absolution

Hitman Absolution review

Agent 47 finally returns in Hitman: Absolution and it’s about time because after 6 and a half years he’s in danger of being usurped by other baldy anti-heroes. Breaking Bad’s Walter White and Larry David have enjoyed many an episode on TV but the smartly dressed killer with a red tie surely is the king on computers and consoles. This time the story’s of a more personal nature. In fact, the hit he’s asked to execute is that of his former boss. Of course things are more complicated than that and the game leads you through 20 levels where not...

Assassins Creed 3 review

Assassin’s Creed 3 is the first true sequel since Assassin’s Creed 2 and if you think it’s out a bit too soon after Revelations don’t panic, it’s actually been in development for a number of years shared between two of Ubisoft’s production houses. This time the action’s set in in the late 1700s during the American Revolution and not only do you play as Desmond in the present day trying to stop the end of the world, but also as Connor when you slip inside the Animus and live out the memories of this half-Brit, half native-American. You’ll be somewhat...

Resident Evil 6 image

Putting the Evil back

Cliff Bleszinski, previously of Epic Games and famous for the Gears of War series has expressed an interest to work on future Resident Evil games. Although probably a flippant comment he said on Twitter “Hey Capcom, call me, we can fix Resident Evil together ?”.  Resident Evil 6 didn’t get the reviews it hoped for partly due to the removal of any actual horror from the game. Based on Cliff’s past work on action games, I’m not really sure how he can actually help bring the horror back though. Buy Resident Evil 6 now New: Buy Resident Evil 6 from Amazon.com...

Dishonored

Dishonored review

Recently I’ve been a busy boy and haven’t really managed to see much of Dishonored before jumping into it for a review. And I have to say the experience is a pleasant one bringing back memories, for me at least, of TimeSplitters and BioShock in terms of the look and feel and Thief in terms of the gameplay. You play as Corvo, a bodyguard who’s promptly set up for the murder of your master and the kidnap of her daughter. After a brief spell in jail you soon escape thanks to some outside help and seek to clear your name,...
