PSP 2 release date

No word yet on a release date yet but rumour has it that the PSP 2 is going to be a powerful monster indeed! It’s all hear’say but we’re getting reports it’s going to have front and back cameras, a touch screen and won’t have any physical media to go into it. It’s also expected to be about half as powerful as the PS3 thanks to its four-core cell CPU. Let’s just hope the battery lasts more than an hour. Dungeon Explorer Warriors of Ancient Arts

Dungeon Explorer Warriors of Ancient Arts review

Typical RPG’s have never really been my cup of tea. All that grinding and talking to NPC’s for hours at a time really gets on my wick. An exception to the rule is Nintendo’s Zelda series; I just love its greater focus on puzzle solving and overall straightforwardness. Dungeon Explorer for PSP is the first game that I have played on my shiny new PSPgo. Let’s find out if it can get me loving more traditional Role Playing Games a little bit more in a review of Dungeon Explorer for PSP. Dungeon Explorer was originally released for the Sony PSP...

Rengoku

Rengoku review

Rengoku was originally released for the PSP back in 2005. Let’s see how the game fairs up five years later after a rerelease on the PSN store in my review of Rengoku. For a two distinct reasons Rengoku reminds me of Rise of the Robots back on the Amiga. Firstly they both share a story about Robots that need to battle each other to the death, and secondly, they’re both pretty bad. Rise of the Robots was a typical 2D Beat em up that tried succeed in a market dominated by Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat, it failed. Rengoku on...

Silent Hill Shattered Memories picture

Silent Hill Shattered Memories review

Shattered Memories isn’t so much a remake of the original PSOne game but a re-imagining of the story. You play as Harry Mason who, after a car crash, realises his daughter’s gone missing in the creepy snowy town of Silent Hill. So off you trot to find her with nothing but a torch and a mobile phone to keep you company. On the Wii you can use the remote to direct your torchlight but on the PSP it just points where you look which at first can seem limiting but you soon get used to it. You can also zoom...

Army of Two The 40th Day

Army of Two The 40th Day review

I guess the sequel to Army of Two isn’t called Army of Two 2 for good reason. It sounds silly. So, The 40th Day it is then and this second of the co-op heavy games sees Salem and Rios fronting their own private army in the buildings and streets of Shanghai. Right from the start it’s all going a bit Pete Tong when what seem to be terrorist attacks are making the skyscrapers around you fall like dominoes. You also happen to be on top of one of them and so your story begins trying to make it to safety...

Jak and Daxter The Lost Frontier

Jak and Daxter The Lost Frontier review

In my head, Jak and Daxter and Ratchet and Clank are pretty interchangeable. They both feature a main character with big ears with a funny sidekick that rides around on his back. This new game on the PSP is made by High Impact Games who funnily enough made Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters so it does feel similar in many ways although, for me, doesn’t quite match the quality of the Lombax’s adventure. This time, Jak’s lost his dark powers (which makes for a more light-hearted feel to the game), and Jak and Keira are looking for more Eco as...
