Left 4 Dead 2

Left 4 Dead 2 review

Gamers kicked up a bit of a stink when they heard about Left For Dead 2 because lots of people thought it should just be an expansion of the original Left 4 Dead and not a full-blown title available at full price. Well, after playing it I’d say it’s worthy of being called a full sequel as it delivers lots more action and a fair few new ideas as well. Playing as four new survivors, once again you must escape the infected by shooting your way through them to safety. Now part of your arsenal is melee weapons. These range...

Saw

Saw review

Despite them getting more and more silly, I like the Saw movies. For me they provide some truly gruesome contraptions mixed with some clever twists. We all know that movie licenses are rarely much fun but does Saw tip the balance? You play as an unlucky character called Detective Tapp. You wake up in a mental asylum and unfortunately nice Mr Jigsaw has sewn a key inside you which all the inmates need in order to leave his little house of horror. Also, six of your associates have also been captured and each one faces a truly horrible death if...

Assassins Creed 2 review

I really enjoyed the first Assassins Creed because not only did it have a free-running mechanic I’d not seen before, but also an intriguing sci-fi conspiracy element as Desmond entered the Animus and kept unravelling things in the past that linked to the present. Some people found the game too repetitive and the constant break in gameplay to the present rather annoying. Well Ubisoft have listened and made a much better game. The sequel follows on directly from the last game and you do spend a good half hour or so as Desmond as you escape the lab and work...

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 review

The chances are you’ve already played Modern Warfare 2 to death already but here goes my review anyway. Let’s start with the single player game. It’s short, very short. I breezed through it on Hardened mode in 6 hours but man was that an intense six hours of my life. Played with the surround sound full blast on a big HDTV, this has to be one of the most cinematic games you’ll ever play and the game engine has noticeably improved! Throwing you into the action you have to dodge helicopters raining from the skies, ride on speedboats and snowmobiles,...
