Little Nightmares Review

Horror games are something I love just as much as movies, and Little Nightmares is something of a departure fro m the usual in your face scares in that at first glance it looks like some kind of kids platform game. Aw, look at the cute little kid in a yellow raincoat running through the…oh hang on a minute, that’s a meat grinder, and why are those shoes just lying on the ground, who do they belong to? What are the things in the little paper hats and why is there a creepy man with very long arms stalking me?...

Mass Effect Andromeda Review

The original Mass Effect was one of my favourite game series to date and even though some people had trouble with the way it ended, I for one enjoyed the ride and was very much looking forward to Andromeda. This game takes humans to a brand new galaxy as they search for a new homeworld that just so happens to be a 600 year journey from the Milky Way. The game begins as you wake from hypersleep and choose to be one of the two Ryder twins, either male or female. Here you can customize your character, although I ended...

Ghost Recon Wildlands review

Ghost Recon Wildlands takes Tom Clancy’s franchise and gives it a new spin where it’s not based on future tech and linear missions where you’re deployed, get the job done and get out. This time you play as one of four Ghosts as you enter the narco-state of Bolivia to take down a cartel leader called El Sueno. This guy’s a bad dude covered in tattoos and seemingly in fashion because cartels seem to be ‘cool’ right now, but of course you can’t just go straight in and get him, you have to take down the faction leaders that lead...

Resident Evil 7 Biohazard review

Resident Evil 7 Biohazard is finally here and most gamers into the series have already had a chance to play some demos of the game and experience the game engine on PSVR before release. This one takes a dramatic turn from the usual Resi affair because it’s all in first-person. Sure, we’ve seen the series in first-person before but those have been spin-off on-rails shooters. This one lets you wander round creepy houses and walk up that set of spooky stairs at a pace that suits you! You fill the shoes of Ethan, a man who gets a cryptic message...

Best Games of 2017

Despite there being some very good games in 2016, most people want to forget about it and move on, so here’s five games I’m very much looking forward to playing this year, the year 2017! Resident Evil 7: Biohazard I still haven’t got round to trying the Resident Evil 7 demos out in VR but the full game will be playable in VR and for that, Capcom must be praised. It’s also quite a departure from other Resident Evil games, as it’s in first-person and not on rails. We’ve seen recent remakes of older Resident Evil titles and let’s face...

Steep review

I like to go snowboarding once a year and while I like doing a fairly decent run down a red, green or blue slope, I never really go down tricky blacks and certainly don’t head off-piste for some gnarly action that could get me killed. That’s where Steep could help me out because it lets me roam around The Alps and explore at will without my insurance company having a heart attack. Developed by Ubisoft Annecy who usually take care of the multiplayer side of Ubi’s games, they are in fact the perfect developers to do this, as they’re actually...
