Final Fantasy XIV

Final Fantasy XIV release date and collectors edition emerge

I can’t believe that Final Fantasy 14 is upon us already. Didn’t Final Fantasy 13 just come out? Yes it’s true but this time Final Fantasy XIV is a MMORPG (like World of Warcraft) instead of a single player adventure. For those of you wanting more Final Fantasy action then this is what you’ve been waiting since 2005 for. Final Fantasy XIV is being released for Windows PC’s very soon and followed next year on PlayStation 3. PC owners will be overjoyed to find out that they have the choice between the standard game release or the Final Fantasy XIV...

Crysis 2

Crysis 2 release date

It’s certainly been a long time coming but we’re finally within reach of Crysis 2 for the Xbox 360. From the developers of Far Cry; Crysis was one of the most popular open world first person shooters of 2007. Some of you may be surprised to hear that to this day, PC graphic cards are still ranked in power according to how well they can run the original Crysis for PC. Such was the quality of the visuals and the power needed to run the game with advanced graphical features, reportedly most players still haven’t experienced Crytek’s original vision. This...

Portal 2 image

Portal 2 release date and gameplay highlights

It can’t go without saying that even after three years; Portal remains one of my favourite games of all time. It is certainly a strange to look back at how the free bonus game included in The Orange Box went on to become Game of the Year. Portal Two for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC was officially shown off at this year’s E3 but more and more exciting information has dripped out since then. Valve has wisely decided that making Portal 2 a fully fledged game rather than an expansion pack is the way to go. This time around...

Microsoft’s Kinect now has an official launch date of 5th November 2010 in the US and 10th November 2010 in Europe. The RGB camera combined with a depth sensor means the Kinect will also be able to see your room in 3D and therefore track your movements in 3D. You can get hold of the device either with the new Xbox 360 S as a bundle or...

Goldeneye 007

Goldeneye 007 release date

Like many of you I have fond memories of playing GoldenEye on my Nintendo 64. In fact it was when I first saw the stunning first person shooter from Rare running on a N64 demostation that I knew I had to buy the console. Almost thirteen years later GoldenEye 007 returns to Nintendo from developers Eurocom and publishers Activision. At first the idea of remaking the classic game brought shudders to my spine but soon after the first details started to emerge it became apparent that GoldenEye for Wii was actually going to be a very different game. So it...

FIFA 11 picture

FIFA 11 release date

Worldwide a new football season is just kicking off and Electronic Arts are putting the finishing touches to this year’s Fifa game. Unusually we’ve already had one new FIFA game this year in the shape of Fifa World Cup 2010 which we awarded eight out of ten. Sadly the World Cup only lasted a couple of weeks and is long since over. The football season on the other hand goes on for months hence the urgent need for Fifa Soccer 11. EA Sports have released a few titbits of information about Fifa 11 for Xbox 360 and PS3 so far,...
