Mass Effect 3 sales figures higher than expected

Electronic Arts will be happy with pre-orders of Mass Effect 3. They’ve smashed all expectation they’ve had for the third in the sci-fi action RPG series and are way ahead of those of Mass Effect 2. They have been campaigning pretty heavily though, with a live action TV advert and even this week launching copies of the game into space with GPS trackers for avid gamers to follow and collect when they land! The PlayStation Vita release date is next week and Sony kindly sent me a device to try out along with a pack of games I could download onto its 16GB memory card. After L.A. Noire didn’t quite hit the mark for me, Rockstar may be planning on a sequel. Although Team Bondi who made the game don’t officially exist anymore, Rockstar said they would not ‘count out the possibility’ of a sequel to the detective game with ground-breaking facial motion capture. Star Trek sequel spawns a videogame

Set your faces to stunned, Namco Bandai have just bagged themselves the Star Trek publishing deal which means they’ll be making the movie video game tie-in for the next JJ Abrams movie. The good news is that it won’t try to copy the movie’s plot but will instead take on its own narrative as written by the writer of God of War and will focus on co-op.
