The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword review

Link’s back for another adventure and Skyward Sword is most definitely going to be the last one he has on the Wii. This time the young boy who takes on the role of adventurer lives in the land of Skyloft and after a ceremony in which he becomes knighted, his sweetheart Zelda is soon thrust down to the surface below and Link has to go and look for her. Cue the usual mix of dungeoneering, questing, talking to townsfolk and using the old grey matter to get from A to B. Despite the graphics and some of the animations looking...

Assassins Creed Revelations review

The last Assassin’s Creed ended on a bit of a cliffhanger with Desmond stabbing Lucy and watching her die in front of him. This latest game in the Assassins Creed series not only starts where the last one ended but also goes back into the memories of Ezio and Altair as Desmond falls into a coma and uses the Animus to try and put his jumbled head back together from within. The main story is told through an older Ezio as he tries to find the lost keys to Altair’s hideout in Turkey’s Istanbul or Constantinople as it was called...

Runescape

Runefest 2011

Last weekend saw the coming together of RPG role-players everywhere in London for Runefest 2011. RuneScape players got to meet with fellow gamers, take part in activities and meet the developers for Q&A sessions. They also had a rather good Halloween party where I got to meet death. I’m still here so I guess he wasn’t real. Buy Runescape now New: Buy Runescape from Amazon.com Related: RPG, Rune Factory review

Rocksmith

Rocksmith release date

Following the news that music game Rocksmith has been delayed in Europe until some time in 2012, it’s also received a rather mediocre response from gamers in the United States. Ubisoft’s North American executive director Laurent Detoc has said on the matter “As much as gamers claim they want innovation, they don’t.” I have to agree, I still prefer a joypad to any other controller but really want to plug my guitar into my console! It’s out in the US for PC in December. Buy Rocksmith now New: Buy Rocksmith from Amazon.com Related: Music video games, Rock Revolution review

Battlefield 3 sales figures

Battlefield 3 sales figures

Battlefield 3 has become the fastest-selling game in EA’s history. It sold more than 5 million copies in its first weekend on sale. Executive VP of EA Games Patrick Soderlund was rather happy, stating “From Tokyo to Los Angeles, Sydney to London, millions of fans have been playing all weekend long – we are overwhelmed by the global response to Battlefield 3.” Isn’t it nice to know most people spent last weekend shooting each other? Uncharted 3 Drakes Deception

Uncharted 3 Drakes Deception review

The original Uncharted Drakes Fortune game took me by surprise at how good it was, Uncharted 2 Among Thieves improved upon this and the third one does what the last one did but improves upon the already great formula so let me tell you why. Once again Nate and Sully are on an adventure to find some lost treasure connected to his ancestor Sir Francis Drake and as a result find themselves caught up in all sorts of Indiana Jones mashed up with Tomb Raider high jinks which involves lots of climbing, shooting, puzzle solving and fist fighting all done...
