Fuel review

When you look at the box for Fuel you’d be forgiven for thinking this is the Xbox 360’s answer to Motorstorm. However, instead of providing crazy off-road racing with a whole heap of different vehicles racing at once, this game’s all about a variety of races and challenges set over an open world which boasts 5,000 square miles of satellite-mapped terrain. Set in a near future where everyone is now living in I guess houses with solar panels, riding bikes to work and being a lot greener, you’re one of the petrol heads who are still burning petrol and diesel...

Colin McRae Dirt 2

Colin McRae Dirt 2 for the Wii

Codemasters have realised the massive sales of Wii could be a good thing for their bank balance and have decided to release next year’s Colin McRae Dirt for the Wii as well as the next gen platforms. With an advanced version of the EGO engine, seven vehicle classes and full online play we are really holding our breath for a great Wii conversion of Colin McRae Rally for Wii which could even use the Mario Kart WiiWheel for arm waving realism. Fall 2009 is slated as the Colin McRae Dirt 2 release date. Buy Colin McRae Dirt now New: Buy...

Pure review

What do you get when you mix the speed and boosting of Burnout Paradise with a similar terrain to Motorstorm? Well, you get Pure. At its core Pure is an arcade racer where the object of the game is to get to the finish line before everybody else. Of course, just getting from A to B would be a bit dull so there’s the tricking mentality to keep things interesting. As you approach a bump you need to preload your jump by pulling back on the analogue stick and then flicking it forward at the apex of the jump. This...

Death Track Resurrection

Death Track Resurrection

It’s been a while since I’ve seen a really great futuristic racer, especially for the PC. Luckily 505 games are bringing Death Track Resurrection exclusively to the PC to fill the void. If you fancy a preview of the game why not head over to the official site and download the Death Track Resurrection Demo, we did and were not disappointed. It feels like a cross between Ridge Racer (when it was good), Wipeout (when that was good too) and Vigilante 8 (which was never very good). Death Track Resurrection is full of weapons, explosions and stunts but also has...

Fatal Inertia EX review

Fatal Inertia was released last year on the Xbox 360 as a full priced title to mixed responses from gamers and critics. Now it’s here on the PS3 as a downloadable for less money and this time around gamers do get a bit more bang for their buck. It’s a futuristic racing game where you pilot ships that hover close to the ground. You simply have to complete the required number of laps and make sure you pass through the checkpoint gates. Do this before everyone else and you come first. Simple. Of course, to make things a bit more...
