With combined sales of around 100 million Nintendo DS and Nintendo DS lites one would wonder if Nintendo needed to develop a third iteration of their dual screen money printing machine but they have done it anyway. Nintendo DSi release date confirmed for US and Europe

After many months of crazy Japanese schoolgirls buying the Nintendo DSi until stocks ran out it’s now our chance to buy a the latest update to the Nintendo DS. Are the two camera’s, SD card slot, bigger screens, built in Web browser and downloadble games enough to make you purchase this? I’m still unsure as both of my Black DS Lite’s are serving me quite well at the moment, however if you want to be the first to own a proper regionalized DSi then you’ll have to pre-order early to avoid disappointment. DSi region unlocked

It’s emerged that the new Nintendo DSi will be region-locked, meaning there’s not much point getting one early from Japan unless you want to play Japanese games on it. Older DS games will work from different regions though, so if you’re looking for a smaller machine with bigger screens to play your games on, go ahead. Nintendo’s remodelling the DS Lite to incorporate a camera. The new DSi will have a retractable lens, MP3 player and bigger screens. Nintendo DS Lite Limited Edition Pokemon Pack

A super stylish new Nintendo DS Lite is heading our way – this special Onyx coloured edition is emblazoned with images of the rare Pokémon; Dialga and Palkia. In the special bundle you not only get the cool coloured DS Lite but a nice bundle of other extras: A never released animation special of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon on DVD. New DS Lite colours

Although there must be only five people around the developed world who haven’t got a DS yet, Nintendo have decided to lure them into the £99 purchase by launching three tasty looking new colours on the 13 June. Even though I already have two black DS lites these new colours (Red, Turquoise and Green) are pretty alluring.
