Baroque

Baroque review

Baroque is an interesting sounding game about pain, suffering, death and reincarnation. Sounds like a typical night out in London but I won’t let that dissuade me from giving it a fair chance, time to continue into our review of Baroque for Wii. In Baroque you take control of a character simply known as The Protagonist, a blue haired chap who has lost his memory and voice. All we know is that he has very guilty feelings about something, but he doesn’t remember what. A pretty cool looking male Archangel appears as you wander around the Wastelands chatting to the...

Hellboy Science of Evil

Hellboy Science of Evil review

The first Hellboy movie was an enjoyable romp although I did nod off for a couple of minutes towards the end. I’m also looking forward to watching the sequel directed by Guillermo Del Toro. This game takes artistic direction from the Italian director and also features the voice of Ron Perlman as you fight the forces of evil over a few long levels. It’s your standard third-person action adventure. You explore graveyards, forests and the likes, beating up lots of mythical creatures on the way. Lizard men, Werewolves and other ghostly beings all make an appearance as you hammer buttons...

Diablo 3

Blizzard have finally spilled the red kidney beans and let out some details about the long awaited Diablo III, specifically on improvements over Diablo II. The game will be running on a brand new custom built engine with full 3D character and environment support. A reworked control system allowing for simple and intuitive mouse use. There will be five character classes, all of which have Male and Female gender choices. Havok physics as seen in Half Life 2 and Bioshock are now fully implemented. A full single player quest is included along with the cooperative online play via Battle.net. Both...

Harvest Moon Tree of Tranquillity

Growlanser Heritage of War

What with all the next gen consoles out there we quite often overlook the PS2 as a current gaming machine and as strange as it sounds, in some countries the PS2 is still outselling the PS3. So here is a bit of news for all your PS2 owners who are waiting that little bit longer before diving into the new console war. From the same people who bought you rather good No More Heroes and Harvest Moon on the Wii, Growlanser: Heritage of War is the latest entry in the critically-acclaimed Growlanser game series for the Playstation 2. This fantasy...

Blue Dragon review

This one’s a classic-style Japanese RPG on the Xbox 360. Japanese developers have mainly ignored Microsoft’s console and stuck to making games for the PS2 but this one, even before its release in Japan, was being hailed as the big RPG for Microsoft which should change the attitudes of all you RPG-ers out there. It’s got the dudes who created Final Fantasy, wrote the music and the character designer who worked on the Dragon Quest games and the cult classic Chrono Trigger so it better be good. The game begins with a big purple cloud rolling over a small village...

Overlord review

Here is a review of Overlord from Codemasters, which to begin with, I got confused with Archlord, their free to play MMORPG but that’s another story. In this one you play the Overlord who has been summoned by lots of evil little minions to be their lord and master. You then go about the world being evil and destroying everything in your wake like a good little tyrant. When I say evil, I don’t mean in the way of say Hitler, we’re talking more ugly sister in Cinderella. Believe me, the proverbial tongue in this game is firmly in its...
