Guitar Hero Aerosmith review

If you’ve still got an axe to grind and you’re a fan of the wrinkly rockers from Boston then you could do worse than check out Guitar Hero Aerosmith. With about 40 songs, interviews with the band and of course models of them prancing around on the stage it’s a fan’s dream. However, myself being someone who knows a few of their chart-toppers and not much more, it all falls a bit flat. If anything it shows how aged the game format’s becoming and without the help of surgery of the like Steve Tyler benefits from, it’s easy to just...

Using the Wii Guitar Hero controller with Rock Band

We’ve had an email from someone who wants to know if it’s possible to use a Guitar Hero guitar with Rock Band for the Wii. The bad news is that you can’t, which is a shame because we know you can with the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. If cross-compatibility is critical then the most suitable 3rd party controller we’ve looked at is the $69.99 ezJam Wireless Guitar which works across the board with all titles. Guitar Hero goes on tour on DS

Got new news on Guitar Hero for the ever-better DS. Apparently the game will deliver a unique Guitar Hero experience by challenging handheld gamers to rock out and prove their shredding skills on the most diverse set list of master tracks ever offered in a Guitar Hero game, including classic rock, alternative and pop favorites such as Nirvana, OK Go and No Doubt. The game will be packaged with a Guitar Grip peripheral that fits snugly into the DS and a unique Guitar Hero pick-stylus that brings a new dimension to handheld gaming and the core gameplay that defines Guitar Hero....

Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock review

Right, time to review one of my favourite games of the moment, it’s Guitar Hero 3 Legends of Rock. I played the first one to death on the PS2, then the second one on PS2 and the 360 and now this one’s come out complete with optional wireless guitars and a few new twists to try and improve on the already fantastic format. Once again you choose one of a few characters and work your way through a number of venues by playing four or five songs as well as you can. You don your guitar peripheral, hold down the...
