Goldeneye 007 review

I know everyone bangs on about Goldeneye being the best FPS ever but in my opinion everyone’s seeing the N64 classic through rose-tinted spectacles. Sure it was great for its time but if you were to go back and play it again I’m sure you’ll think it’s a bit naff compared to some of the AAA shooters of today. Goldeneye on the Wii is actually the third game to come out with this title and instead of just hijacking the name it attempts to re-imagine the original with Daniel Craig taking on the lead role instead of the suave Pierce...

Blood Stone

Blood Stone review

Blood Stone promises a brand new Bond adventure whilst MGM try to get funding to finish their so-far-doomed 3rd Daniel Craig Bond movie. This tale of espionage revolves around a UK top secret biochemical that’s fallen into the wrong hands and so Bond has to investigate where it is and gets into all sorts of bother in the process. Most of this bother revolves around duck and cover shooting as we’ve seen done to great effect in Gears of War and Uncharted, and some short driving sections that should be good seeing as Bizarre Creations developed the game, the same...

Goldeneye 007

Goldeneye 007 release date

Like many of you I have fond memories of playing GoldenEye on my Nintendo 64. In fact it was when I first saw the stunning first person shooter from Rare running on a N64 demostation that I knew I had to buy the console. Almost thirteen years later GoldenEye 007 returns to Nintendo from developers Eurocom and publishers Activision. At first the idea of remaking the classic game brought shudders to my spine but soon after the first details started to emerge it became apparent that GoldenEye for Wii was actually going to be a very different game. So it...

Quantum of Solace

Quantum of Solace review

Before I begin this Quantum of Solace review let me just get one thing out of the way. Goldeneye on the N64 was great but only at the time. If you played it now I’m sure you’d be disappointed and realise you saw it through rose-tinted spectacles. Right, onto Quantum of Solace. The license if now with Activision after EA’s been making a quick buck with lazy Bond licenses for the last few years. Treyarch are the developers and the Call of Duty 4 engine is used in this first-person shooter that pops into third-person when you find cover so...

GoldenEye on Xbox live arcade

Rumours are flying around more than Jodie Marsh’s knickers about a GoldenEye remake on Xbox live arcade. There are even apparent videos of a slightly tidied-up version of the N64 classic. Whether this is true remains to be seen but I hope it is. Then I hope we’re not just viewing the game through rose-tinted specs and we ruin how good it was at the time for ourselves.

James Bond videogame

It’s come to light that Daniel Craig doesn’t really want to be in the next James Bond videogame because he instinctively thought it was going to be a bit rubbish. After the recent GoldenEye game who can blame him? Activision have the rights to the franchise until 2014 and they’ve not rushing one out apparently, so hopefully Daniel, you won’t have anything to worry about.
