Mario Kart review

Mario Kart Wii is the sixth game in the long running Nintendo racing series and this time it comes with a plastic wheel and motorcycles. Who on Earth can say no to that? Mario Kart has been seen on every major Nintendo system since the Super NES (and even twice on Arcade Machines), can Ninty once again recreate the karting magic on their new home console? Here just for you, is our review of Mario Kart Wii. Unlike other Mario games, Mario Kart doesn’t really have a story – Princess Peach hasn’t been kidnapped by Bowser, you simply have to...

Mario Kart review

We all know what Mario Kart is and most of us have grown up with it since the days of the SNES, the N64 and right up to the not so distant past on the GameCube and the DS. At last it’s come to the Wii complete with a wheel casing to put your remote inside and what it’s been crying out for in full glory since it worked very nicely on the DS – full Wi-Fi multiplayer support. I’m going to assume you know how the game works so I’ll go into what’s new, what works and what doesn’t...

Mario Kart Wii review

Has it really been fifteen years since I played the original Super Mario Kart game on the SNES? Well unless I’m a time lord (which I’m not) then the answer is very probably yes. Mario Kart Wii is the sixth game in the series (excluding the Namco arcade versions) and after 15 years of experience you would think Nintendo should be the perfect guys to create one kick ass karting game. Mario Kart Wii is a fun but surprisingly deep racer, it might be full of colourful characters and whacky tracks but look deeper into its core and you’ll see...

Mario Kart Grand Wii event

I was lucky enough to live near one of the 30 Game stores that were taking part in the special Mario Kart Wii event on Saturday 5th April. I scuttled down to Portsmouth nice and early to try and have a go at getting on top of the leader board and have a chance of getting into the grand final being held at Brooklands. At the final, four people will be playing for the grand prize, Nintendo themed VW Beetle. The first thing that I did upon arriving was watch some other people race; this gave me the chance to...

Not just any old star prize, but an actual real life Mario Kart themed Volkswagen Beetle – Yahoo indeed Mario fans! I know I’m definitely going to head down to my local participating Game store and have a...

Mario Kart online mode

Nintendo of Europe has just released some new titbits about Mario Kart online mode for the Wii. We’re really excited by the news that regular online challenges, similar to the Mission mode on Mario Kart DS will be available for everyone to play and more importantly, compete against each other online. It’s great to hear that challenges will be updated all the time and can be viewed on the new Mario Kart Wii channel without even having to insert the Mario Kart disc. Having said that, I can’t see any other game coming close to getting a sniff of the...
