Mass Effect 2 is nearly with us and project manager Casey Hudson is already talking about Mass Effect 3. He says he wants a quick turn around for the next game so it also comes out on the Xbox 360 and not a future Microsoft console. Given the long lifespan of these evolving consoles I think that shouldn’t be a problem. Co-op gameplay could soon be a reality for future Mass Effect and Dragon Age titles. BioWare have hinted that this may be a possibility so if you like someone to hold your hand during your single player experiences, be patient and you could be rewarded. Electronic Arts have now announced that the former Xbox 360 downloadable content pack entitled Bring Down the Sky is now read and waiting for PC users to download. This update gives you a rather good 90 extra minutes of gameplay, a whole new soundtrack and cool new alien race to encounter. The tech savvy will be pleased to hear that this isn’t a lazy port over from the Xbox but a new fully optimized and updated version, so if you have a whopping great graphics card or two in your PC expect to be able to gloat about higher framerate...

The Mass Effect trilogy will be exclusive to the Xbox 360 according to an Australian gaming magazine. Apparently Bioware don’t want to compromise on quality by spreading themselves over more than one machine. Does that mean no Mass Effect trilogy PC version? It seems Mass Effect can only be activated 3 times if you buy it for the PC. The Mass Effect activation codes will use the same SecuROM system used in Bioshock and will even contact Activision’s servers once every ten days to check if the copy is genuine. Big Brother is watching you!
