Finally we have confirmation from Konami of a sequel to the very popular Pro Evo 2008 for Wii. PES 2009 Wii will see the return of the unique control system which allowed you to point at the screen and control any player on the pitch. This radical control scheme allowed for greater fluidity, more accuracy in passing and general playmaking skills. Pro Evolution Soccer 2009’s been confirmed for an Autumn release in the UK. They promise a complete graphical overhaul and more tweaks to make the game even more like the real thing. Konami, please sort out better set plays and non-jerky online play.

PES 2008 will be available at a budget price from the release date of 16th May on Xbox 360 and PS2. The 360 version will sell at £24.99 and the PS2 version at £19.99. Good news for abyone who heard about its teething problems online and has waited before getting involved in Konami’s beautiful game.

So Pro Evolution Soccer has finally come to the Wii and instead of Konami going for a normal conversion, they’ve been very brave and opted to completely remake the game with a revolutionary control system.
