Fallout 3 Mothership Zeta review

Mothership Zeta is the latest expansion for Fallout 3 and this one’s a very different proposition from what you’ve played before. As usual the expansion starts with a distress signal and this one points you towards the crashed alien spacecraft. This time though, you get caught in a tractor beam and are abducted by some very clichéd looking greys.

What follows is a strangely linear experience battling with just aliens and a couple of other creatures that have been beamed aboard, but it’s a lot of fun. You get to meet other abductees who help you complete some of your quests and get to play with some brand new energy weapons and have a fiddle with some alien technology.

It’s a nice change to be completely away from the wastelands of Washington DC and of course you can keep your weapons and outfits you find when you get back to terra firma.

As I mentioned before my only complaints are the lack of variety of enemies on board the ship and the fact that it’s rather short. Compared to Point Lookout it really is rather short but in my opinion it’s well worth getting if you’re running out of things to do in Washington.

Mothership Zeta gets a very good 7 out of 10.
