Alien Isolation review

I love both gory and spooky horror movies and I’m also a big fan of the Alien movies and H R Giger’s Xenomorph creation. Having endured Sega’s previous AvP games, I was excited to play Alien Isolation, a game that harks back to the roots of the Ridley Scott’s original Alien movie as you helplessly avoid just one alien that will definitely kill you if it spots you hiding in a dark corner. Aliens vs Predator review

Why are people so obsessed about Aliens fighting Predators? Not happy with the previous games that were never seen as true masterpieces, Sega now publish this latest version once again made by Rebellion. You get to play short campaigns as a Marine, an Alien or a Predator, each with their own abilities and attacks. The Marine is the most familiar. You have the great sound effects of the radar and the pulse rifle and have to fend off Aliens running at you from all angles, mostly in the dark. The real gaming geeks among you may remember Alien vs Predator released for the 64bit Atari Jaguar many moons ago. Back in 1995 it looked amazing and wiped the floor with PC FPS games like Doom and Duke Nukem – skip forward fifteen years and Atari are dead but the first person shooter lives on. Alien RPG cancelled

If you were still hoping to play the Alien RPG, forget it. Developer Obsidian have now confirmed the game is no longer happening. Aliens Colonial Marines details released

This week Sega have announced their upcoming new first person shooter for the Playstation 3, PC and Xbox 360 – Aliens: Colonial Marines. Sega tell us that in Aliens: Colonial Marines, players are part of a United States Colonial Marine squad and must prepare to face an Aliens assault more intense and horrific than ever before. We’re also to expect some classic weaponry such as the Flamethrower and Pulse Rifle and some new, never before seen equipment and skills to master. Cool!
