Mortal Kombat X review

The recent reboot of Mortal Kombat in 2011 was a great success. Combining visceral punchy combat with an actual story for once in a fighting game instead of some stills and juxtaposition made for my favourite fighting game, especially since it had so much more to offer as well. Mortal Kombat X expands on this with a roster of brand new fighters, graphical improvements and some very imaginative fatalities! Single player sees another fight between the Earth Realm and the Netherealm as Shinnok comes back from where he was sent in the last game to do all sorts of naughty...

Mortal Kombat X release date

As you know I love my horror movies and if it wasn’t exciting enough that Jason Voorhees from Friday 13th is going to appear in the Mortal Kombat X Kombat Pack with his hockey mask and super meltey face, another ugly mother, the Predator from the films of the same name will also be a playable character complete with all his weaponry that will shred skin from bone so he can make furniture out of them. The game comes out on 14th April 2015 worldwide. Full Kombat Pack details are: The Ultimate Horror Pack: Playable character Jason Voorhees. Horror skins Vampiress...

Mortal Kombat X release date and trailer

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and NetherRealm Studios have released their latest Mortal Kombat X trailer showcasing yet more fighters from what I think could be my new favourite fighting game (my current favourite is the reboot Mortal Kombat which came out around three years ago). The trailer entitled “Who’s Next?” takes a look at some of the characters you can kill with or kill including Kitana, the beautiful but deadly Edenian princess and Kung Lao, the powerful martial artist who could give James Bond’s Oddjob a run for his money with his hat-tricks. And speaking of hats, Raiden is back...

Touching Mileena in Mortal Kombat for the PlayStation Vita

Warner Bros. have released this full live action trailer to highlight Mortal Kombat contestant Mileena in their new game for the PS Vita in stores on May 4th. The game features an all-new Challenge Tower mode with 150 brand new missions which includes Touchscreen Fatalities, X-Ray moves and more. There’s no word as to whether the touch screen can be used for feeling other things – if you get my drift. Mortal Kombat review

Since Mortal Kombat first hit the consoles and arcades with its digitally-captured actors when I was a teenager it’s undergone many different forms in tonnes of sequels. Here in 2011 the game’s just called Mortal Kombat again which suggests going back to basics in terms of what made it good in the first place. Fighting games aren’t known for having great stories but story mode here is a bit different and it works well. Revisiting the storylines of MK 1, 2 and 3, you fight in the tournament to stop Shao Kahn’s minions winning fights and eventually taking over the...
