Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask

Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask review

I’ve been playing the Professor Layton games since they first appeared on the DS and now the top-hatted clever clogs and his assistant Luke have now come of age and are represented in full 3D on the Nintendo 3DS. Emmy’s along for the ride as well as they attempt to solve the mystery of a masked figure who appears at the start of the game and turns all the revellers having fun at a carnival into stone! Obviously this kind of thing is simply not on so off the team trot to question the townsfolk, solving a load of puzzles...

Professor Layton and the Lost Future

Professor Layton and the Lost Future review

Despite the amazing popularity and success of the Professor Layton series, for whatever reason I’ve just not gotten around to playing either of the first two games. I don’t usually jump into a game sequel before playing the original but when Nintendo called and asked me to review Professor Layton and the Lost Future, there’s just no way I could say no. Now I know that many of you will have already played at least one of the Professor Layton games before and will not need any introduction to the game or characters, the rest of us however will need...

Professor Layton And Pandoras Box

Professor Layton And Pandoras Box review

If you’ve got a Nintendo DS then you’ll almost certainly already be familiar with Professor Layton, and if you’re not, the chances are you’ll have a friend or relative who is. You may even be one of those many, many people who, last December, spent the weeks in the run-up to Christmas scouring shops both online and off in search of what turned out to be one of the most wanted (and, seemingly, least available) gift items of that year – 2009’s Furby no less – the rather excellent Professor Layton And The Curious Village. On the subject of Christmas...

Following our review of Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box we’ve been asked when the UK release date is. Nintendo are actually selling the long awaited follow up to Professor Layton and the Curious Village under the title of Professor Layton and Pandoras Box in the UK and Europe. The game features new a storyline, new mysteries to solve and over 150 new puzzles – DS owners connected to the internet will be able to download an additional 33 puzzles after the games release. Already out in the US Nintendo have confirmed that the Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box UK...

Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box review

I’ve been waiting almost a year to go on another puzzling adventure with Professor Layton and his trusty sidekick Luke and I couldn’t wait until it came out here in the UK so I’ve imported the US version. Once again I’m having a thoroughly good time and that’s thanks to the same great gameplay as the first game Professor Layton and the Curious Village. This time, one of the Professor’s friends has apparently been killed after opening a mysterious wooden box, and they set off to find out what happened. During the course of the game they uncover many more...

Professor Layton and the Curious Village review

Last week I was in the pub chatting to a mate about adventure games and he says I should try Professor Layton and the Curious Village for the DS. This game passed me by big style as it came out at the start of the year and I’ve never heard of it. However, I can’t put it down so let me tell you all about it in case your DS is currently gathering dust. The game tells the story of the professor and his apprentice Luke as they visit the French town of St Mystere to solve some puzzles and...
