Silent Hill V
So Silent Hill is coming back to haunt us in the new year and this time it’s all next-gen so expect even scarier graphics and proper images of terror that’ll scare you well after you’ve switched off you console.
Available for Xbox 360 and PS3, the game follows Alex Shepherd, a soldier returning home from an overseas tour of duty. Alex has taken compassionate leave after his younger brother Joshua has gone missing. At first, Alex goes looking for him in the small town of Shepherd’s Glen before being transported to the misty empty streets of Silent Hill with strange creatures waiting for him in the darkness.
Konami’s promising an even more atmospheric title than the last one. My girlfriend better watch out because she got so scared of The Room she couldn’t bring herself to finish it! Again, there’ll be a mix of compelling characters to meet, melee combat and of course enough things to leave a bad taste in your mouth even after brushing, flossing, scarping your tongue and using mouthwash.
Not only will it look better, but Konami also say we will have more control over the central character than before, which could hint at an over-the-shoulder view which worked so well in Capcom’s Resident Evil 4.
I’ve played all the previous games and didn’t think the movie was actually that bad so as a fan, I can’t wait for this to come out. I’ll try to play it with the lights off and bring you a full review when I get my hands on it.
