Finally we have confirmation from Konami of a sequel to the very popular Pro Evo 2008 for Wii. PES 2009 Wii will see the return of the unique control system which allowed you to point at the screen and control any player on the pitch. This radical control scheme allowed for greater fluidity, more accuracy in passing and general playmaking skills. A similar system is being developed by EA for Fifa 09 Wii and it will be very interesting to see how that looks. Konami are promising a number of key additions to the control scheme to improve the shooting, as well as have more control over the defenders.
There will also be a brand new AI system that will be extra sophisticated and much more intuitive with regards to movement from team mates. Matt gave PES 2008 Wii a stunning 9 out of 10 last time out, so if Konami can improve things a little here and there then we might just be seeing a 10 out of 10 review score for Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 Wii next year. It’s a long way off at the moment so the only PES 2009 release date for Wii so far is Spring 2009.
