Just Dance 3

Last night saw the celeb-studded launch party for Just Dance 3 which took the form of a house party in a large town house in Grosvenor Place. We left the taxi to a blinding flash of photographers who soon stopped taking photos when they didn’t know who we were (teach me to pull up in a cab right outside) and then made our way up the steps into the party. As you’d expect for a dancing game party there was a dance floor and a DJ playing good but deafening tunes and of course consoles set up around the house...

Playstation Move Ape Escape review

I think I need to start this review off by first making something very clear: for me, the joypad is, and always will be, king. Having evolved over many, many years to become what it is now, whether you use the traditional PS3 version, the Xbox360 pad with slightly wonkily-positioned sticks (presumably designed like that to prevent breaching Sony’s patent), or the Wii’s ‘let’s divide the controller into two bits so it looks even stranger’ version, the reason that the joypad has evolved into the form that it has is that it makes it possible to play just about any...

Playstation Move Controller Attachments

Now deep down inside we all know that the PlayStation Movie controller is a glorified Wii Remote Plus. Just because it has a glowing ping pong ball on the top doesn’t really make that much difference. What most people don’t realise is that the Wii Sensor Bar does pretty much exactly the same job as the glowing ball, just in reverse. When the Wii launched with Wii Sports it didn’t take long for accessory makers to start producing all sorts of attachments for the Wii Remote. First we had the most obvious things such as Tennis Rackets, Guns and Baseball...

Top 5 PS3 games for Christmas 2010

After nearly four years in the wilderness the PlayStation 3 has finally become a serious contender in the gaming realm. A disastrous start saw the PS3 fall way behind the Wii and Xbox 360 and for the most part can be blamed on its initial $700 price point. Now with a redesign that focused on cost saving and reliability, sales have sky rocketed and now reaffirms the place of Sony’s console in living rooms around the world. Finally the Sony PlayStation 3 is an affordable device that is not only a top gaming system but a highly competent BluRay and...

PlayStation Move Starter Pack from Amazon

We’re cautiously excited about PlayStation Move, it’s clear that Nintendo made some correct moves when developing the Wii but they did cheap out on inaccurate and low quality tech. After four years of studying the success (and anti-climax) of Wii; Sony went to their drawing board with the goal of improving motion control and bringing it to their core PlayStation 3 audience. Whether Sony will convince Sony PS3 owners to buy into motion control is anyone’s guess. What we do know is that they’re trying very hard with good looking previews at E3 and a low cost Playstation Move Starter...

EA Sports Active 2

EA Sports Active 2 for the Xbox 360 and PS3

You’ve got to give credit where credit is due. The boffins at Nintendo managed to upgrade an ordinary set of bathroom scales into an interactive piece of hardware. So after upgrading the scales with extra sensors and Bluetooth; next came the Wii Fit software which brought home exercise and yoga moves to Wii users. To cut a long story short, Wii Fit sold millions of units, millions and millions. So many millions that other publishers jumped on the bandwagon right away to develop their own Wii Fitness titles. Skip ahead to 2010 and EA Sports Active 2.0 is almost here...
